Best Rust servers

26 lists · ranked by players on right now

Region

Start with how you play. If you group up, the solo, duo and trio shelves only hold servers that publish those team limits. If you want a faster pace, reach for the gather rate shelves: 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, plus 1.5x and 10x+.

Then choose your region so the busy hours line up with yours: EU, US, AU. For a feel of the game, try PvE, roleplay, primitive, zombie, battlefield, creative or tutorial.

If you want the classic rules, the vanilla shelf is for you; for changes, the modded shelf. Official servers have their own shelf, and community ones are here.

Every list is ordered by live player counts and nothing else. Refresh is every five minutes, so what you see is what is in stock. For the freshest stock, check just wiped or see what is wiping today. You can also browse every server online.

Questions

How do I pick a Rust server quickly?

Start with the shelf that matches how you play: group size, gather rate or region. Each list shows the three busiest servers at a glance, and you can open any server page for the full picture. Numbers refresh every five minutes, so you are always looking at current stock.

What do the shelves mean?

Each shelf groups servers by a shared rule: team size, gather rate, region, game mode or mods. A server lands on a shelf when its name, tags or published settings match that rule. One server can sit on several shelves, so you may see the same name more than once.

Are these the best Rust servers?

These are the busiest right now, ordered by live players. That is not the same as best for you. A quiet server with the right rates and a fresh wipe can suit you better than a crowded one. Check the wipe timer and group limit before you grab a spot.

How fresh are the numbers?

Player counts are read from Steam's public list and refreshed every five minutes. The counts you see are the counts we have. If a server empties, it slides down the shelf on the next refresh, and new stock appears as servers come online.
