About this list

5x is the shelf for players who want to move fast. Five times the gather rate means a base on day one and a raid not long after. Every server below is in stock now: its name says 5x or x5, and its live player count, wipe date and settings sit on the label. Browse the shelves below and grab one that fits.

Worth knowing

Worth knowing before you pick. A 5x server only shows here if its name carries 5x or x5, so a few five-times servers with other names are missing. The player count is live and refreshed every five minutes; the rank looks at the last seven days, so a server can rank well while its players are offline. Wipe day matters at this rate: join on or just after a wipe for a fair start, later for a calmer map. Most 5x servers run Rust's default group limit of 8, but some are solo, duo or trio only, so check the Group column. Check ping too, as many of these sit in Europe.

Questions

What does 5x mean on a Rust server?

It means you gather five times the normal resources from every node, tree and barrel. Wood, stone, metal and sulfur all come in five times as fast as vanilla. Many 5x servers add kits, teleports or quicker crafting on top of the rate. It is a modded setting rather than a vanilla one.

How often do 5x Rust servers wipe?

It varies by server. Some publish a monthly wipe, some weekly, and others only reset at Facepunch's force wipe. The Next wipe column on each row gives that server's estimate. If a schedule is not published, the estimate is based on what the server has done before.

Are 5x servers always listed as modded?

Almost always. Facepunch requires any server that changes gather rates to list itself in the Modded tab. A 5x server outside that tab is not following the rule. The vanilla tag refers to difficulty rather than rates, so a vanilla-tagged server can still be modded.

Can I play solo on a 5x server?

You can, but check the Group column first. Most 5x servers keep Rust's default team limit of 8, so you may meet groups that size. Some set a limit of 2, 3 or 4, which suits a solo player better. Use the search box to look for solo or duo in the server name.

More about these servers

Two things are worth a second look on each label. First, the Rate column: 5x means five times the normal gather for wood, stone, metal and sulfur, and many of these servers add kits, teleports or faster crafting on top. Second, the Rank column, which is based on seven days rather than the current pop, so sort by Players for what is live now. Nearly all 5x servers sit in the Modded tab, which is where Facepunch requires raised gather rates to be listed. If five times is too quick, step down to the 2x shelf, or step up to 10x.
