Worth knowing

A few things worth knowing before you grab one. Most players on these shelves sit in European servers, so if you are elsewhere, read the Region column or type your region into the filter. A large share of modded servers never post a wipe schedule, so treat the Next wipe column as what the numbers show, not a promise; open the server page for its wipe history. Group limits often stay at the server default, so search solo or duo if that is your size. Rates are read from the name, and on modded a missing rate can mean almost anything, so check the description. If you already know your rate, a shorter shelf like the 2x list is quicker than scrolling.

Questions

How do I tell whether a Rust server is modded?

Check the server's tags and name for a rate above 1x, plus words like kits, shop, teleport or a game mode. Facepunch expects any server that changes gameplay to sit in the Modded tab, so a raised rate listed elsewhere is a warning sign. Chat or admin tools alone do not make a server modded.

Should I sort modded servers by rank or by players?

Rank rewards servers that hold a crowd across the week, not just on wipe day. Player count is the live figure at this moment and can swing a lot within an hour. Use rank to shortlist and the live count to confirm before you join.

Do modded servers wipe blueprints as well as the map?

It varies. The monthly force wipe resets the map on every server on the first Thursday, but blueprints are the owner's call. Read the server's own page and description to see whether blueprints go with the map.

Do I need extra files to join a modded Rust server?

No. The plugins run on the server side, so you join with the normal game client and download nothing yourself. If a server asks you to install something before joining, that is not how the Modded tab works.
