Build and creative servers
Here is the shelf for builders. These servers carry the build or creative tag, or put build, creative or sandbox in their name. Each one shows its live player count, last wipe, next wipe and region, so you can see what you are grabbing before you join.
Most build servers are sandboxes: free resources, instant crafting, often noclip. So the usual worries about raiding and grinding do not apply.
The useful columns here are players and last wipe. A busy build server means someone can look at your base and tell you it is too flimsy. A quiet one means a clear space to test a footprint for next wipe. Many of these servers reset every few hours, so your work may vanish; the last wipe column tells you how fresh the world is. If you want a server that keeps its map, look for a long gap since the last wipe. For filters by region, group limit and wipe schedule, the server browser has them all.
Questions
What is a Rust build server?
A sandbox server where resources are free and building is instant, often with noclip. Players use them to design and test bases without gathering or getting raided. They are a separate shelf from normal survival servers.
Do Rust build servers give free resources?
Yes, almost all of them do. Resources are spawned through a plugin, and crafting is instant. Some also give god mode and noclip so you can inspect a base from any angle before you build it for real.
Do Rust build servers wipe?
Many make a new world every few hours, which clears your build. Others keep the map until the owner resets it or the force wipe does. The last wipe and next wipe columns on each server tell you which kind you are looking at.
Why are build servers in the Modded tab?
Free resources, noclip and instant building change the game, so Facepunch requires those servers to declare themselves as modded. That does not make them cheat servers; it is just the correct category for any server with tools you do not get on vanilla.
The list is live: servers with players sit at the top. You can re-sort by next wipe to see which worlds reset soonest, but on a build server a reset is usually a blank canvas, not a loss. Search matches names and addresses, so typing 'EU' or 'solo' finds servers with those words in their name, not every server in that region or with that limit. Player numbers change every five minutes, so check them before you commit. If you want to see build servers beside other play styles, the full server list has everything in stock.
